My name is Ruben Smith-Zempel I believe that good design is something in which to take great pride. When something has been properly designed and executed the experience of every user or viewer is greatly enhanced, allowing that person to focus wholly upon the subject at hand, be it fine art or a catalog of goods. Human beings are largely visual creatures and anything that doesn't properly catch the eye immediately is doomed to failure.

In my time as a graphic designer and artist I have produced books, websites, fine art, and many other visually compelling products. The one constant between all of these different products has been the role that good design played in their reception and use. Be it a lavishly illustrated book or a simple portfolio website the visual design of a product must match the content or the product as a whole suffers.

I am always striving to improve my design skills and my understanding of the role that good design and artwork plays in the production of all forms of media. My first love has always been the production of roleplaying books, as the visual design of the product can greatly enhance the theme and mood of the text when used correctly. I feel that these books are a great test of a designer's skill, a test that I feel I have passed with flying colors.

I would greatly enjoy putting my talents and skill to use with your own products or productions. I am always seeking new and interesting products that require the touch of a skilled and multi-faceted designer and artist to fully bring the material to life. It is my greatest hope that I might take what products you have and help you produce something truly extraordinary.
