Arcanis: the World of Shattered Empires

Arcanis: the World of Shattered Empires is a product line produced by Paradigm Concepts for the popular Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 edition rules. The current trade dress and book format was already set when I began working on the product line, yet I managed to improve upon the appearance of the book with a few small tweaks. I updated the simple black and white borders to a subtle colored version and worked to create an easily readable yet colorful layout. The sample PDF provided below is taken from the adventure Lord of the Pack.

Spycraft: Combat Missions

Combat Missions was a book created for the Spycraft game system. Paradigm Concepts had done a few of the books for this system prior to my employment, but I was given the chance to rework and revitalize the game line. I went with a very simple brushed steel border with bold text that emphasized readability and the action of the book line. I was also responsible for the Cartography for the sample produced below, an excerpt from Combat Missions.

Tales of the Caliphate Nights

With Tales of the Caliphate Nights I was able to design a trade dress and visual look for the book from the ground up. The game was set in the Arabian Nights, so I went with a parchment background and a typeface worked to look somewhat Arabic in appearance. This book was nominated for, but did not win, a Production Values Ennie (the Gen Con EN World RPG Awards).

Witchhunter: The Invisible World

Witchhunter: the Invisible World is the newest game line from Paradigm Concepts. Once again I was given the task of designing a visual look for the books from the ground up. I went with a dark and Gothic theme that emphasized the time period common to the game. The sample provided was taken from the newest adventure, Time and Tide. The core book was nominated for, but did not win, a Game of the Year Ennie (the Gen Con EN World RPG Awards).
